Assisted Living performed at the Y-ME Breast Cancer benefit, Band on the Run. This was the band's fourth time performing at
the benefit, and as always, was an honor.

Wow, it has been over a year since I have touched this site! I have mostly been working from pdkrason.tripod.com these days,
but I have always liked this site for its permanent links and older songs of mine that have not been reposted on the new website.
Still, so much has happened since I last checked in. I bought Pro Tools Digi 003 Rack recording interface and Behringer ADAT.
The upgrade has contributed to much clearer sound. I also acquired some Audio Technica 2020s and the AT 3033 large diaphragm
condensor microphone. So far, I've found the microphones to deliver a much more personal and transparent sound. I only regret
that I didn't have these mics earlier. Either way, I have been recording some new material and am hoping to release it soon.
Stay updated, and have a great one!

A lot has happened since the last update of this site. three more albums and my middle sister moved into the house along with
her husband and my nephew (JOHNNY)! It's a bit difficult to write new music when you've got to be quiet 24/7, but I'm hoping
to write another album and "tour" it later this spring and summer.
6.23.06
I've been so busy lately that I tragically haven't stopped to write a song in a while. So, I made sure to compose a bit today,
and I was actually lucky enough to write a song this morning called, "Before You." I love it and it basically wrote itself
in minutes this morning. It's definitely a favorite of mine at the moment. Check it out in the albums section. Enjoy!

Happy father's day everyone. I'm taking the day off from music. What a rarity! But I've been just spending some time relaxing
and reminiscing on the wonderful wonderful memory of my father. I can't believe it's almost been seven years.
But yesterday, I began writing a song called "The Last to Come is the First to Go." I'll post it up as soon as I start recording
it which should be soon.
Enjoy the rest of the day!

But anyways, I just got back from playing the show at the Palos Hospital Band on the Run. It was a crazy experience but an
AWESOME one nevertheless.
You probably know all the background of the Band on the Run and all that, but I'll bore you with history anyway. I mean,
I am studying to be a History Teacher... MUHAHAHAHA! Anyways..It's actually a "race" sponsored by Palos Hospital and the proceeds
go to Y-ME breast cancer. It's an amazing thing really. And the gimic is that 5 bands play at 5 different locations along
the race route. The past years I've played it, everything's gone off without a hitch and the experience is flawless (God bless
the coordinator of the event, Lori Mazeika.) Everything is planned out well and many volunteers help make everything run
much smoother as well. But here's where all the problems came this particular year...First, all the bands came to check-in
at 7 this morning and got all mixed up where they were supposed to play. So... We eventually were given a spot only 15 minutes
before the start time at 8AM. But then, to make things worse... The power generator we were set up with at our location started
up strange, chugged, and immediately kicked out (and shorted out some of my equipment)! O well, now what?...You know....
It wasn't anyone's fault who was running the event. It was just the company that rented out the generators to the event wasn't
careful. O well.
So, we were completely stranded along the race course with no moving-trucks or walkie-talkies to contact anyone for help.
So, I was like...hmmmm..... Is that the Orland Centennial Park outdoor ice-skating rink?! They must have a power outlet!!!
So, we dragged all of our stuff there and BEHOLD! There was a 7up machine! O YEAHHH!
When one door closes, another one opens... So we plugged into that sucker and played a good show. But I was so sweaty and
exhausted from luggin our gear up the hill in the mud that I was sweating up a storm the entire performance. Honestly, my
hair was soaked. Luckily, it didn't effect my angelic voice. LOL hehemmm. LOL Afterwards, I just told the sweetheart event
coordinator, "don't worry about." but I didn't go into many details and kept it simple. But the generator was so stressful
you don't even know. It wasn't their fault really. Crazy things happen. This was our second year playing it too, and last
year things worked out better. I'm sure this was just a fluke. I still really enjoyed playing it and really look forward to
playing it again next year, because it's such A GREAT CAUSE and the people are fantastic that run in it and also who make
it happen through a lot of hard work and planning.
Aside from that... Now, I'm starting a class at Moraine Valley this Tuesday, and other than that, I'm struggling to find gigs
this summer. All the fests are already booked up and stuff for this summer.
So, I'll probably just start calling places, carnivals, and festivals now and ask them to book us a year in advance.

Nas & I held a huge six hour jam session today followed up with a little visit to our friend Zak's show. Still two more weeks
til summer... O well.
Just a little FYI... The first half of June I will be focusing mostly on my work with the band and Athanasios. I'll be back
working on my solo act and music as soon as the band cuts our new album in the first half of June.
The album for the band is untitled thus far, but my new solo record is entitled, "Smiting The Foe." hahaha I don't know, what
can I say? I've had a thing for Egyptian art lately. haha I've already begun work on the new solo album and band album. Hopefully,
I'll have those both available by June 20.

I am honored and excited to be the FEATURED ARTIST OF THE DAY for MP3.com.
Thank you so very much for that Mark Croward.

I was lucky enough to see
Conan O'Brien TWICE this week in Chicago!
Tuesday and Friday I got to attend the show. And Friday I felt it in my heart to scream "CONZIE, DON'T LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAVE!"
right when he was giving his closing remarks, but the crowd didn't let up and a marching band played the show off the air.
ARG!
O well...I guess I saved myself humiliation, but it would have been cool cuz I know Conan would have made some awesome comment
in response.
I guess I just have to try and get good enough for myself or the band to perform on the show in the future...Maybe when he
takes over Leno's spot... HEHE! But anyways...
College is almost done for the summer, and I'm looking forward to some concerts and releases.
Come out and have some fun. See you soon.

Today is extremely significant for me because I decided to change my college major from biology to political science.
It was one of the most difficult decisions I've made in my life, but I'm very content with it. It not only seems to make more
sense in the short-term, but it also seems like the right thing for me in the long-term.
I mean... I love biology and it's ability to save lives through medicine and research, but politics is equally stimulating
and is in need of good people. Additionally, the schedule I maintain is much to difficult to accommodate for the amount of
lab and quiz separate non-credited sections which are entailed in the biology major.
But anyways...

Pete & Nasi Marneris perform show in Lake Street subway station in Chicago
Permittless & in a restricted zone!
"It was definitely an experience...lots of fun
But we'll make sure we get that city permit so we can get a few more notes in before we get kicked out again next time. haha"
- Pete
Today I lugged much of my gear on the el train to chicago and played in a subway with nasi today during rush hour! It was
a lot of fun, and we're going to do it again once we get a permit...hahaha(because, long story short, we played in a restricted
zone as well as didnt have the liscense to play there. hehehe) But we're going to get a liscense soon hopefully and we'll
play in the non restricted zones of Jackson Street or Washington. It was cool. I wish we had someone taking pictures of
it.
But anyways...

Ah! I have so many final examinations coming up! But you know what that means... haha
Yep. More songs...
I always write songs instead of studying during finals weeks. I don't know why...haha I wrote and recorded six new songs in
the past three days. That's usually the trend for the finals. "The Sun Still Sleeps" was actually a result of a final examination
day recording session of mine. I wrote and recorded that one the night before a couple of huge tests in the previous term.
Why is DePaul a trimester college? We have an extra final exam.
O well... I'll just suck it up.

I shared some of my songwriting process and philosophies in an added page on this site. If you're interested in reading about

Assisted Living finished January on a high note with a fun experience for all at Loyola's Mertz
Hall! Although, after almost having to pull out of the show last minute due to our drummer,
Tiger, being out at Kentucky University and our go-to back-up drummer, Tony, having unavoidable
engagements that night, we were able to bring in Graham, a bassist and great friend of ours,
for the show and moved Athanasios over to the drums for the night. It was a crazy night before
the show as well, but we managed to pull together a whole new array of songs hilariously
including songs from the prehistoric age like Blur's "Song 2." The evening had its many
obstacles, but the band overcame them all with a little bit of hard work, and a lot of laughs.
All in all, great show. It was so much fun for the three of us, and the folks that came out
were rocking our worlds. Thanks to everyone that came. You were great, you are great, and ever
shall you be. : ) Hope to see you all again at the next one.

Christmas was a blast. Pete & Nasi played a little for close relatives and friends.
Composer/musician/singer, Pete Krason, is Chicago's alternative pop-rock artist. Enjoy and don't
stay up too late.
The music flows with melodic guitar/sitar melodies, ambient delay guitar and piano soundscapes, and
weaves in and out of musical styles while maintaining a cohesive unit. It's a throwback to the sounds of U2 and the Beatles
while still incorporating the more modern tone of the Killers and Strokes. Pete composes with the lyrical touch of Lennon
and Elliott Smith while experimenting with genres and the musical status quo.
